About the Stroop Test

Stroop measures interference control: your ability to suppress the prepotent tendency to read the word and instead report the ink color. Points reflect the difference between incongruent and congruent reaction times scaled by your accuracy.

What it Measures

• Selective attention: focusing on the relevant feature (color).
• Inhibition: resisting automatic word reading.
• Speed–accuracy balance: stable responding under pressure.

Tips

• Say the mapping aloud once (red/1, green/2, blue/3, yellow/4) before starting.
• Keep a steady cadence; don’t “spike” speed on easy trials.
• Pause between runs to reset attention.
