About the Stop-Signal Task

This paradigm taxes inhibitory control under speeded choice. You respond to arrow direction (Go), but if a red square appears, you must cancel the action (Stop). The score mixes accuracy with a speed factor derived from your mean Go reaction time.

What it Measures

• Response inhibition: suppressing a prepotent action.
• Action selection speed: left/right choices under time pressure.
• Stability: keeping errors low while maintaining tempo.

Tips

• Anchor hands near the response keys (1/2 or arrows).
• Don’t chase maximum speed — accuracy drives the final score multiplier.
• Short pauses beat long fatigued runs.
